Meet the Dripping Springs Team Behind Otto’s Garage Door
We’re the crew whose trucks you’ve probably seen on 290 or winding through Belterra and Highpointe. Otto Reinhardt started this company in 2004 with one van and a promise to answer the phone himself. Twenty-nine years later, the team’s bigger, but the rule hasn’t changed: the person who shows up at your door is somebody we’d trust at our own. These are the folks who’ll be in your driveway, and yes, they’ll recognize you at H-E-B on Saturday.
Our People
Miguel S. – Lead Technician
Miguel has been turning wrenches on garage doors since 2009 and has been with Otto’s Garage Door for twelve of those years. He’s the guy Otto calls when a problem doesn’t make sense on paper, because Miguel figures it out with his hands and his ears before he ever opens the manual. He’s certified across LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Genie openers, and he’s rebuilt more Clopay and Amarr doors than he can count. Off the clock, Miguel restores old trucks and grills for his neighbors on weekends. If your spring lets go at 2 a.m. and Miguel arrives, know you’re getting the best we have.
One thing Miguel will tell you straight: a door is 200 pounds riding on two springs, and he respects it every single time. He counts spring cycles the way the rest of us count tire miles, and he’ll tell you exactly what’s left on yours before you spend a dollar.
Dana R. – Senior Installer
Dana has been installing residential garage doors across Hays County since 2011 and joined Otto’s team eight years ago. She specializes in full door replacements and new construction installs, and she’s the person who makes sure every Clopay, Amarr, or Wayne Dalton door sits square, seals tight, and runs quiet. Dana is factory-trained on LiftMaster and Raynor openers and handles the trickiest opener retrofits we see. She keeps a notebook with every job she’s done, and she remembers them all, including the dog’s name and which side of the driveway the basketball hoop is on. When Dana says a door is done right, it’s done right for years.
Walt B. – Service Coordinator
Walt is the voice on the phone more often than not, and if you’ve called us at nine at night when your car was trapped in the garage, Walt’s the calm one who told you someone was on the way. He’s been with Otto’s Garage Door since 2016 and knows the service area the way a postal carrier knows his route, from Driftwood to Henly to the far side of Fitzhugh. Before joining us, Walt spent a decade in the trades as a carpenter, so he understands what the crew is walking into before he books the call. He’s the reason we can quote a job on the phone and hold that price at the door, because Walt asks the right questions the first time. In his spare time, he plays bass in a local band you’ve probably heard at a crawfish boil.
Trey A. – Apprentice Technician
Trey is the newest member of the crew, apprenticing under Miguel since 2023 after graduating from Dripping Springs High School. He grew up in this town and knows half our customers by name before we ever pull into their driveway. Trey is working toward his opener certification and already handles spring inspections, cable checks, and safety-eye alignments under Miguel’s supervision. He’s the one who remembers to ask about your grandkids and actually wants the answer. If Trey shows up with Miguel, that’s a good sign: it means we’re training the next generation the same way Otto trained everyone else, hands-on and the right way from day one.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this team carries the same promise on their back and in their work. The 90-Day Done Right Promise goes on every invoice in writing, and it means what it says: if something’s not right, one call brings us back, no runaround and no charge. Otto quotes the job, Miguel or Dana does the work, Walt schedules the follow-up, and Trey learns how it’s supposed to look. Prices are quoted before the visit and never revised upward at the door. We’re licensed and insured, and Otto’s license number is published where any homeowner can verify it before the truck arrives. The name on the van is the name on the invoice and the name on the license. That’s been true since 2004, and it’ll be true when Trey’s the one training somebody new.
One more thing worth saying. Every one of us lives in or near Dripping Springs. We shop at the same stores, our kids go to the same schools, and we’ll see you again, at the hardware store, the football game, or the coffee shop. That’s why this isn’t just a job to us. It’s our town too.
